The Wild K-9's are a heavy metal band, created by Jacob Elmer.

The band started in Buckeye, Arizona by Kathryn Smith. She took up playing the bass in her mid-teens then started auditioning band members. Clark Williams as the vocalist, and an English exchange student, Steven Rufus on guitar and Tobias Unger as the drummer.

They eventually grew a fan base after playing gigs but Clark left the band thinking it will not go anywhere. The band eventually befriended Tori Springfield, who was a blind pianist, who would later become the band's rhythm guitarist, after Steve taught her how to play guitar. They eventually meet Johnny Neil, who will later become the new vocalist for the band.

Musical style and influence

Though influenced by earlier traditional metal acts, the Wild K-9's have been widely considered a Thrash Metal band, mostly due to their aggressive lyrics and fast playing style. They also been known to throw in elements of crossover thrash, due to their fondness of hardcore punk.

Lyrically, the band relies on both satire and shock value. Their lyrics while humorous are often too graphic, obscene and politically incorrect. Most of their songs are often criticism towards politics, society, and mockery of the mainstream media.

Steve's lead guitar work often consist of heavy riffs, sweep picking, arpeggios, and hammer on. Whereas both his and Tori's rhythm style heavily relies on downstroking and power chords. And Kitty's bass tone was inspired by the late Lemmy Kilmister.

The band are influenced by Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Slayer, Megadeth, the Misfits, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, Black Flag, Cannibal Corpse, Pantera, Venom, The Sex Pistols, N.W.A. (mostly Johnny), Danzig, Biohazard, the Dead Kennedys, Avenged Sevenfold, Rage Against the Machine, the Exploited and Slipknot.
